Zion National Park 2018 – Zion breathes among looming and massive sandstone slabs. The rays of sun struggle in the morning to reach the base, yet emphasize the reddish rocks at the peaks. The beauty of water movement within the Narrows gives a certain solace and stillness amidst the canyon’s monoliths and vermillion cliffs.
I am struck by the closeness and daring vertical landscape. It is a rugged and intimidating place as it changes and evolves. The silence in the canyons is obvious; a gentle breeze through the trees, the random chirping bird, and the trickling remnants of water that eep out of the cracks of rocks high above the base.
